Books are on sale
Books are on sale at www.xlibris.com/bookstore. I have trouble finding this site because I signed in at another place as 418Hadit (whereas this is Hadit418)--confusing. 418 means Nothing, as is explained in Liber AL. So these are two little books under the names of Clayton O'Claerach and Sri Clayton, Avadhuta--one can be found as Meds and Reds, the other is Crossing the Abyss Made Easy, a sort of parody on Prabhupada's Easy Journey to Other Planets. I am investigating lowering the price, so don't buy too soon! I am about 40 pages into a new book, about Krishna consciousness and Christian Science, so that should be interesting, also.

-Patience-
My author review copies came a few days ago--signed the approval forms and sent back--now I am just waiting for books to go on sale. One just practices Silence regarding the whole enterprise until something happens.
Meanwhile, I recieved 'Crowley's Goetia", by Lon DuQuette and others--I have never been overly interested in the Goetia, but if one wants to call himself a real Magician, one must practice it at least once. I bought several books including the Holy Books of Thelema, because I am restoring the library--I lost everything three times, and have to start from scratch.
I am anxious to begin marketing attempts, and all this waiting is very frustrating.

Trials of Faith
I was reminded this morning, upon reading Srimad Bhagavatam, of the trials of the Pandavas, especially their exile to the forest--they were in the Royal Order, and accustomed to living very well--soft beds, fine food, etc. and now they were forced to make do in the forest, with a bed of leaves and whatever they could find to eat--I believe this lasted 7 years--I also have no money and no food, but this situation will not last 7 years--I suspect having made some considerable spiritual progress, I am being tried--Job came to mind, but not quite so badly; will my faith see through the unreality of this to the Goodness of God manifest?

A New York Yippie! on the Locked Ward
That is the title of my book--it is the only account of the hippies/Yippies that does not mention a single rock band! This is because music is very incidental to the everyday lives of most people--who George W. Bush listens to is not very relevant to his decisions--and the rock bands were in the world of money, and lots of it, whereas the hippies were anti-money--an impractical philosophy, for sure. Therefore moneyed rockers play no part in my narrative. Later, after my days as a Yippie!, I would become very familiar with locked wards--a couple of hundred of them. Somehow, my memories of the State Hospital are perfectly intact, whereas my memories of the county ward are all blurred together--I cannot explain that---I wrote down 26 of them but all i can remember is one incident in each--and there were far more than 26. After a while, it hurt me more than helping me--it is always painful to be yanked out of your life and set to another life on the ward--I never had ECT or anything like that, but I took a whole bunch of psych drugs, which got better and better with the development of newer drugs. Anyhow, I dont do that any more--better living through chemistry.

Feminism in Krsna Consciousness
I am the earliest male feminist in the Krishna Movement--I have found so much opposition to this "unusual idea that women are people" that I just keep my mouth shut about it. I knew there were two or three more, in recent times, and it turns out there are quite a few. I think the cure for the disease of wanting to subjugate and lord it over the women is to read "women" for "material nature" when reading Srila Prabhupada's writings--this is The Problem, and it certainly won't be solved by following the Laws of Manu! The Law of Thelema states, "Every man and every woman is a star"--women are as good as we are, and often better.

On chanting the Holy Names
The Holy Names are the Sound Incarnation of the Supreme Good. They come down hand to hand like picking mangoes from the top of a tree. This special formuilation of the Names, the Maha-mantra, is expecially designed by the Lord Himself, to be efficacious in vanquishing all the ills of this Kali Age, or Age of Quarrel and Iron Industry. Among these ills are illicit sex, intoxication, meat-eating, and gambling or mental speculation. These are the four primary sins of the Age. It is said that all these sins dwell where there is gold. (Sin means forgetfulness of God, or Krishna). These and so many other bad quaities that come to us in this Age are destroyed by chanting the maha-mantra: Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare/Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare. Destroying sins and bad qualifgies is only one aspect of the power of the Names--they elevste us to the platform of great yogis and saints, and give us Krishna prema, pure love of God, the Goal of all existence. But it is written, "the mere sound of Hare Krishna is not the holy Name--the feeling with which we chant, like a child calling for its mother, evokes the true Name. Srila Prabhupada, out of humility, did not speak of this, but "Prabhupada" is also a maha-mantra--"The name of the Guru is a maha-mantra".

when you're out of Bud, you're out of Beer
At this posting, one more day til payday. Meanwhile I have run up a $100 overdraw at the bank, and I am living on a credit card that I hope not to max out. You may appreciate that I only have $200 at most per month for food, bus fares, and everything, so I am exhausting possibilities of anyone who will give me money or lend me money--"Money is the honey" (old devotee saying) People who have never been broke cant appreciate the situation. At least, I dont have a wife and six children looking to me to provide for them! Like the title says, and that's the story--"When you're out of Bud, you're out of Beer!
